The Ultimate Duelist Series Invitationals are always a showcase for top players; aside from WCQs and the World Championship itself, the UDS is the closest thing Yu-Gi-Oh! has to an invitational circuit. It's really common to see star players pull out all the stops and innovate big meta strategies in a bid to take home the title belt, and the latest UDS in Indianapolis was especially well positioned to set trends since it was the first big tournament of the new format and the new 2019-2020 season.

We were expecting some strong indicators of what would be good next week in Regional Qualifiers and YCS Portland, and the UDS did not disappoint! Today Doug discusses five of the biggest hits from the tournament: Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit; Gnomaterial; Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess; Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher; and a big surprise smash, Trishula, the Dragon of Icy Imprisonment.
