For this Pro Tour I went a bit off the beaten path. The deck I chose is Selesnya Midrange, and quite an unorthodox build of the deck. The deck treated me well in the tournament and is a good metagame choice that targets the top decks.

My favorite card in Standard is Karn, Scion of Urza, even though there aren't many decks that can successfully utilize it. However, a four mana planeswalker that can dig through a large portion of your deck is quite strong, and that is what Karn, Scion of Urza does. In the games themselves I felt like the deck underperformed a little bit, but the Boros decks are a tough nut to crack, and it's hard to be much better than even against them.

Since the deck is so unique I want to provide a general sideboard guide for a few matchups. There are a lot of flexible slots and cards that can come in and out.

Sideboard Guide

Golgari

+ 1 Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants

- 1 Ixalan's Binding

The deck in its current form is built in a way to have a good Golgari matchup, and you don't need to change it too much, the key is getting a Tocatli Honor Guard into play.

Izzet Drakes

+ 4 Adanto Vanguard
+ 2 Squire's Devotion
+ 2 Deathgorge Scavenger
+1 Seal Away

-2 Knight of Grace
- 3 Tocatli Honor Guard
- 1 Karn, Scion of Urza
- 1 Carnage Tyrant
- 1 Ajani, Adversary of Tyrant
-1 Baffling End

Mono-Red

+ 4 Adanto Vanguard
+ 2 Squire's Devotion
+ 1 Seal Away
+ 1 Baffling End
+ 1 Settle the Wreckage
+ 3 Knight of Autumn
+ 2 Deathgorge Scavenger

- 4 Llanowar Elves
- 2 Knight of Grace
- 1 Carnage Tyrant
- 1 Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants
- 4 Tocatli Honor Guard
- 1 Karn, Scion of Urza
- 1 Vivien Reid

I like sideboarding in the combination of Adanto Vanguard plus Squire's Devotion against any deck that has no real way to answer it. Unfortunately, here Goblin Chainwhirler can be rough on Adanto Vanguard if you are unable to find a Squire's Devotion to go with it. Definitely a tricky matchup.

Red-White Aggro

+ 3 Knight of Autumn
+ 1 Seal Away
+ 1 Settle the Wreckage
+ 1 Baffling End

-4 Tocatli Honor Guard
- 1 Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants
- 1 Knight of Grace

Sometimes I will leave some Tocatli, Honor Guards in if I suspect a version relying more on Venerated Loxodon. It is awkward when bringing in Knight of Autumn though, which is why I generally prefer to have a configuration with one of these cards but not the other.

Moving forward, I suspect the deck may change a bit based on the metagame, though if it stays the same as the Pro Tour I do still recommend a Selesnya deck similar to this one.
