Starstrike Blast is an old set that had a more limited print run than some other core releases. As a result a bunch of good cards from that set - even commons! - have shot up in price. Stuff like Vanity's Emptiness, Stygian Dirge, Skull Meister, and Wightmare all come from Starstrike Blast, and this week's card is no different. Different Dimension Ground was played in six of the Top 32 decks from YCS Madrid - an astounding number for a card that drew no attention in previous competitions. Dimension Ground is a chainable trap that acts as a one-turn Dimensional Fissure. Shaddolls and Burning Abyss both rely on their graveyard, and that's what makes Ground so effective.
For example, chaining Ground to the activation of Shaddoll Fusion means the Shaddolls your opponent used as Fusion Materials are going to be banished instead of hitting the graveyard, preventing their effects from activating. It puts your opponent in such a terrible position for no cost beyond the inherent -1 of its own activation, and that's crazy. It can also screw up the popular Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss and Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss loop, banishing whichever one is currently on the field. But the best part is that you can play Different Dimension Ground in decks that can't actually use Dimensional Fissure or Macro Cosmos, like Shaddolls or Burning Abyss themselves. Because it only lasts one turn you can lock your opponent and then play your turn as normal when you want your own strategy to go off.
If you haven't already, definitely give Different Dimension Ground a second look!
