The Breakers of Shadow Sneak Peak happened over this past weekend, flooding the TCG with a ton of amazing new cards that will surely warp competition for the next few months. One of my favorite cards, Enlightenment Paladin, seems to have flown under the radar, but I think it's one of the more powerful cards in the set.

The Paladin's a generic Level 8 Synchro Monster packing 2500 ATK, and it carries two powerful effects. When it destroys a monster by battle you can inflict half that monster's ATK as damage, stacking up free burn that could seal the deal in games you wouldn't win otherwise.

But the coolest effect only activates when it's Synchro Summoned using at least one Magician Pendulum Monster. If you meet that requirement you get back any spell from your graveyard for free, with no restrictions. It's essentially Dark Magician of Chaos, a long Forbidden monster that was extremely relevant in tournaments when it was Limited years ago.

Enlightenment Paladin's pretty easy to summon that way, too; my favorite method is using Masked Chameleon and Dragonpulse Magician or Wisdom-Eye Magician. But you could even use Dragonpit Magician with Glow-Up Bulb or the increasingly popular X-Saber Palomuro. There are a bunch of great options to retrieve, like Twisters' rel="https://yugioh.tcgplayer.com/db/WP-CH.asp?CN=Twin Twisters">Twin Twisters, Waving Eyes, Pendulum Call, and Instant Fusion. Enlightenment Paladin might be overlooked by most, but it's sure to steal games for you if you play it correctly!
