Feather, the Redeemed may be the best white-red commander ever printed—which, unfortunately, isn't saying much.
While Feather, the Redeemed can generate a ridiculous amount of card advantage over the game (which is incredibly rare for a Boros legendary creature), Feather's power is still limited by the amount of mana you have. White-red is traditionally seen as weak in Commander because it lacks card advantage and ramp, especially when compared to stronger pairs like blue-green. And of course, Feather, the Redeemed is vulnerable to removal, but has to stay on the battlefield to have any effect on the game.
None of this makes Feather, the Redeemed a bad commander—Feather is great! But building around Feather requires that you mitigate its potential weaknesses, so you can reap that sweet, sweet card advantage every single turn.
