Wizards balances every spell in Magic by giving it a mana cost. So avoiding those costs, say by putting a creature directly into play, really feels like cheating.
Winota, Joiner of Forces lets you cheat not once, not twice, but multiple times every turn depending on how many non-Human creatures you use to attack. This wild effect, half card advantage and half ramp, is held in check by the deck builder having to balance their Human and non-Human creatures. We can get around this restriction by only playing creatures that create non-Human tokens.
