Peformage Pendulums are one of the most successful strategies of the format so far. As the Regional Tops keep stacking up, we're starting to see the deck played in different ways – namely with a series of engines you can splash to accomplish different things. Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord and Painful Decision was the first of the complimentary card suites, allowing for more consistent plays with PSY-Framelord Omega and Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer.

Doug mentioned the Madolche suite played for Madolche Queen Tiaramisu by Spencer Pierce in our Card of the Week discussion, and Brilliant Fusion's taken off to help load the graveyard with Performage monsters, granting extra Normal Summons with Gem-Knight Seraphinite. All three engines are strong, and each is played for a different end result. We've seen competitors combine them for greater synergy, too.

But the big surprise over the weekend might have been the emergence of a fourth engine, revolving around Armageddon Knight. With Armageddon Knight to send Dark monsters to the graveyard, competitors like Blair Hunter at the North Carolina Regional, and Dylan Tischer at the Minnesota Regional made Top 8 finishes with some new combos. Yarding Shaddoll Dragon can destroy an opposing spell or trap card, but it can also trigger your own Performage Plushfire to Special Summon another Performage. Using Armageddon Knight to send Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite to the yard lets you bounce one of your Pendulum Spells for another free Special Summon, fielding 3000 damage in combination with the Knight or making an instant Rank 4.

The Performage Pendulum deck's highly customizable, and the techniques we're seeing now may be just the beginning. Be sure to stay tuned to the Deck Archive and TCGplayer facebook feed for updates – we'll be keeping an eye out for new innovations in this strategy over the coming weeks.
