Crossed Souls finally introduces Pendulum Summoning to five of the game's biggest decks, but it also serves to reintroduce Synchro Summoning: Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit is the best splashable Tuner we've seen in years, and to pair with it, we get Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. A Level 7 that's easilySummoned off Snow Rabbit plus any Level 4, Clear Wing's got a beefy 2500 ATK and packs two effects that help you control the game...and keep it on the field.

Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's first effect discourages your opponent from using the abilities of their biggest monsters: once per turn on either player's turn, you can negate the activation of a monster effect from a Level 5 or higher monster on the field. If you do, you blow away the monster. That punishes Nekroz, Shaddolls, and even Burning Abyss... pretty much everything but Satellarknights, since they rely on Xyz Monsters which don't have Levels.

Also once per turn on either player's turn, you can negate the activation of a monster effect played from the field that would target a Level 5 or higher monster, negating that activation and destroying the source monster. That can keep Clear Wing Synchro Dragon safe from cards its first effect wouldn't cover, like Shaddoll Dragon and Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer, but it also offers a double layer of protection against high-Level monsters like Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss and Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning.

As a bonus, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon gets an ATK boost until the end of the turn, every time it destroys a monster. Not only will your opponent lose cards if you can force them activate effects, but they'll risk taking more damage. If you destroy cards on their turn, they'll have to fight through an even bigger Clear Wing. Super-easy to Summon and fine-tuned to counter some of the biggest cards in Crossed Souls, Clear Wing should make an impact this weekend at YCS Columbus.
