Hello there! I'm Jon Corpora, Managing Editor of magic.tcgplayer.com, and there are the ten best-selling cards of the past week. Let's hit it.
Merfolk Branchwalker's great in Modern, but the card is likely getting another bump from Rivals of Ixalan anticipation. Buyers are likely banking on the set making Merfolk a Thing In Standard.
The Unstable tokens are still gorgeous, and kicking us off is Thopter Tokens. Vintage has Hangarback Walker, Modern has Thopter Foundry, Standard's got Whirler Virtuoso… there are no shortage of decks across all formats that use Thopters.
Opt's still selling better than ever thanks to its prevalence in Modern. Get used to it.
Lingering Souls is a real x-factor in Modern, often beating decks single-handedly. Lots of Modern players are all about the bling so it makes sense that they'd choose to summon shiny spirits.
Saprolings are more of a casual curiosity; they exist all throughout Magic's history and still show up today.
Speaking of casual, did you know people REALLY like squirrels? Who knew?
As Foretold continues to be the toast of Modern. It hasn't put up a real result yet, but it's a new deck and it 5-0s plenty of leagues on Magic Online.
Field of Ruin does lots of stuff. If you can't quite palate being down a land after Ghost Quartering your opponent, Field of Ruin is there for you. In a pinch, it can even fix YOUR mana. Do I recommend doing this often? No, but sometimes, it can get you out of a bind.
Piggybacking off of the Rivals of Ixalan Merfolk hype, lots of players are going in on Kopala. It makes perfect sense—Kopala's cheap, and if Merfolk ends up being a thing, it is likely to include Kopala.
And yet again, the Top 5 consists of the Unstable basic lands. I have no idea when these things are falling off the Top 10, but it's not going to be soon.
And that's all she wrote. Let us know what you thought in the comments, and in the meantime, subscribe to our YouTube channel. In the last two weeks, Seth Manfield has made the Top 8 of TWO GPs, and he makes videos all the time, so check those out and I will see you next time.
